I have been looking for a pub where you can simply hear your friends talking, I finally found it a the end of the year. The drinks are affordable as well.
On saturday 29th may we visited the Charles Grey and were absolutely disgusted with the attitude and behaviour of the door staff towards myself. I am disabled and needed to sit down, so sat on a chair placed close to the monument. I was quickly approached by the door staff and told to get off the chair and sit on the low monument steps instead. When I explained I was disabled and was unable to do so, one of the door staff sneered at me 'yeah, right!', grabbed hold of the back of my chair and started rattling it, as if he was trying to tip me off. When my husband, son, daughter and friends protested we were told to move on or risk arrest by the police! I cannot believe that in this day and age this type of prejudice still exists.
I started my night out there while on a night out with the girls and had a great time.
