After making a point of phoning them to ask if a hen party would be welcome, I got reassured it would be fine. Only at the side entrance a jobs worth bouncer became dismissive and told us we would have to try at the front entrance. After explaining I had pre-phoned, he said well your not getting in now with that attitude. They should remember where they are situated and stop being stuck up

I've visited this bar with friends quite a few times now and absolutely love it - we always make a point of visiting it when in Newcastle. Love the decor, music's great and the drinks are surprisingly very reasonable! Seems to attract a nice class of people too which is always a bonus.

Just left Purdu tonight 08/08/09 the DJ has not got a clue he randomly played sound tunes as if by mistake young guy don't know his name.

Was in last Saturday and older guy on the turntables was pure class, sad to say but it looks like age does matter.

This used to be a good bar until it opened a door onto the Bigg Market, since then it has went down hill,

always packed to the rafters with stuck up people and crap music, chose any other bar on Collingwood Street and you'll be fine!

Oh my! I was blown away by this place! Its well fancy! The gardens like a smokers paradise! Totally gorgeous place that unfortunetly gets in all the fancy pants so better off going on student nights if your not up for that.
