Visited it today with an enquiry. Was a total disgrace since the new owners took over in November the pub has gone downhill. The staff are rude and really offish when making an enquiry. They were not co-operative and the treatment of staff who were currently working there when they took over was totally appauling. I will be looking to make a formal complaint. I really would not rate this pub at all due to treatment by staff.
just visited the pheonix for lunch i got lasagna and my friend got mince and dumplings it was delicious defo be back . the staff there were very friendly
I visited the phoenix last Tuesday with my grandmother as someone had mentioned to her that senior citizens receive 15%115% of meals, although I live in cramlington this was the first time I had visited the pub snd I was pleasantly surprised. Although the lounge area was full the staff were able to find us a table in the bar area and were polite and helpful the food was home cooked and reasonably priced despite how busy it was the food was served within fifteen minutes I definately will b returning as I was made to feel welcome and my grandmother will b returning next Tuesday with her friends to take advantage of the senior citizens discount. On the whole excellent!!
Wouldn't have even given it 1 star if I didn't have to. Absolutely terrible. Should have left once I'd used the toilets- they were smelly, dirty and had a vending machine selling toilet seat covers which were classed as 'essential' that was obviously a warning! We ordered a jacket potato, bbq chicken baguette and a meal for my daughter with 2 drinks, it came to £23! The food came quickly enough but was awful. The final straw was when my partner found a chicken bone in his sandwich. I showed it to a member of staff and the response we got was "that's cause it's chicken" at that point we decided to leave, we were offered a refund which didn't include the greasy chips that we paid extra for to go with the baguette or the drinks. So all in all we paid £9 for 2 drinks and some scabby chips. Avoid avoid avoid!
