A friend and I went into The Telegraph pub for the first time today, and I can quite frankly say it was the worst experience I've ever had while ordering something at a bar in a pub. The bloke who served me appeared either stoned or drunk, and didn't seem with it at all! I tried to order food from the menu and he denied that what I wanted was even on the menu - I had to show him! I also ordered a gin & tonic, where he didn't even put any ice in the drink, let alone any lime! We just walked out and proceded to go to a proper pub for drinks and grub!
I used to drink in The Telegraph quite regularly and it always had a great atmosphere and friendly staff; sadly that's changed. I dropped in for a pint on Sunday afternoon before seeing a friend onto the train and the staff were unbelievably rude and inattentive, even though the bar was totally - and I mean totally - empty. Considering there are so many pubs and bars equidistant to the station I think I'll go elsewhere in future.
