We often come to this restaurant, it has excellent service, Susan is always friendly and welcoming which is why our son loves It. Nice food with a good atmosphere exactly what you need for an enjoyable evening.
my husband and i have always enjoyed coming here in the past. the food is alright but i have to say were not pleased with their services anymore. i felt like i was being questioned by their new supervisor who just wont leave us alone.. (im assuming so since she didnt really help out) and the bartendress just crossed her hands and daydreamed in the bar rather than come and collect our empty glasses. rather disappointed that it just doesnt feel like a posh restaurant anymore.
I went to this restaurant with my friend this Monday, the food was acceptable. By this point you might be wondering why i gave this rating, that is because this waitress kept interrupting our conversations, by interrupting, i don't mean the occasional "is the food alright", she was a chatterbox. I mean seriously!? Despite the fact that she's stopping me from having my food due to the reason that i have to reply, the point of me going to a restaurant with my friend is to have a decent conversation. I tried to give her hints, thought she'd understand and start shutting up since she's local but then again if she did i might not even be writing this review. I do admit that i got fed up and asked her to leave us alone, but if i didn't i might even still be there now talking, no joke.
My tips and guidelines?
Don't even bother.
Very good chinese food, lots of flavour, buffet menu excellent value. Staff very friendly.
What a fantastic meal service was great. Lile the fact that they have local staf
f we didn't need to ask for anything will be back again the food is amazing
Visited The Orient recently with a group of friends from work there was 12 of use we ordered from both the set meal and the £14.80 buffet wich was great value for money and we all enjoyed it. The service was really good . The food in my opinion was fantastic , I would even go as far to say it was the best Chinese meal I have had. We were slightly confused by the buffet menu eat as much as you like as its usually self service in other restaurants but at the orient you order from the buffet menu a bit of everything which was great . Will definatley be returning.
Me & my husband went to The Orient for A early evening meal. We chose the buffet menu for £14.90the meal itself was very poor,we have been going to this resturant for many years & its really gone back. We finished our meal early but the waitress kept us talking& when we got the bill the girl charged us the full price we where 10mins over 7pm. Ther was only 4 people in the resturant. We could not believe the cheek of the waitressas it was her who kept us talking. We will not go back even for A takeaway & we could "t even see the small Print on the menu
Went to this restaurant last night for new years eve with family and friends.23 of us were squashed onto 2 round tables so could only speak to the people on our table which was very disappointing.STAFF - were disinterested and rude FOOD - was ok but not enough to go round, hardly got anything to eat for the money we paidCHILDREN - totally child unfriendly!! kids were given pint glasses of coke which they couldnt even liftSERVICE had to wait ages for food as the staff were too busy serving the take away tradeOVERALL EXPERIENCE - awful night waste of money need to get their act together !!!
went to this chinese restaurant with family and friends last night for new years eve.there were 20 people squashed onto 2 tables with our backs to each other so 1 table hardly spoke to the other table as there was no room to move once we were seated.the staff were very rude and not a bit interested in us. the food was ok but not enough to go round so we all left still feeling hungry.more attention was given to the take away side of the restaurant and in all it was a very poor and disappointing night.the restaurant was not child friendly at all young children were given pint glasses of coke which they couldnt even liftthis is the only time we have ever not left a tip for the staff and felt like we shouldnt have to pay the bill!!we paid and left but will never return again unless they get new management who knows what they are doing and puts the customer first !MY CUSTOMER---- MY RESPONSIBILITY
Have to say worst Chinese restaurant I have ever eaten in.
Table booked for 12 gave us 2 round tables so we had our backs
To each other. The food didn't taste to bad but there wasn't
Enough to go round. Bad staff attitudes and took over 2 hours
For three courses while at least ten takeaways were served.
Need to get their priorities right very poor.
Been today, booked and arrived at 7pm. Left at 8:30pm - still waiting for main meals. Spoke to manager - they had not started cooking our main meal. Asked for bill - they charged us full amount for starters and drinks. The manager is clueless on customer service.
Will not return
this place has gone down hill and if this manager is anything to go by they will only have a take away business, because they ignore the customers sitting in the restaurant to serve the take away trade
Best advice - stay away!
Would have preferred to give in nil stars but was not an option
