Nice enough surroundings but food was disgusting. Starters of mushrooms and nachos not too bad but nacho topping not mixed in. Main course contained chips that had been at least twice fried and had no potato left in middle. Chicken was very dry. Sent it back. Was served cannelloni which was mainly cheese sauce and lasagne which had been frazzled in the microwave so was burned in the bottom corners and along the edges of the sheets of lasagne. Money was returned but only offered for main course initially. With persistence full refund given. Went to another venue. Never again!

I agree with previous reviewer that this pub is certainly quiet and for a "locals" pub the location is not at all ideal..

It should not really be that way as it is cheaper than nearby competitors. I have been in a couple of times recently and had issues with the beer.

I am no real ale buff but the John Smiths smooth had a distinct unpleasant aftertaste.

Food is typical pub fare but looks well presented and tastes as it should. Staff are reasonably attentive.

i prefer pubs to be really lively but when you fancy a quick quiet one by yourself this place is ideal.
