Excellent selection of international beers.
Pleasant but dark interior with lots of ship pictures.
Pub food as ordinary as it can get.

A well-managed, welcoming 'proper pub', with an excellent selection of beers and lagers. Its popularity can make it a very crowded place at times - particularly on a Friday evening - so if its a quiet drinking hole you're looking for, you'll be lucky to find a good one in central Newcastle, where many pubs are victims of their own success in that respect. Still well worth a visit, though, particularly mid-week.
Awesome pub, one of our stops on a recent stag do a must say they were very welcoming and we had a whale of a time
