terrible food. service was an absolute disgrace and inedible when complained was a case of tough management didnt care once they had your money no refund or exchange offered. Wont be back if i could give 0/5 i would but
this thing wont allow

We have been regular users of the Red Lion Restaurant and previously the food was quite good but they are now cutting corners and have started using poor quality frozen fish with stodgy batter. The chips were clearly from two different batches, half were large, white, and under-cooked the other half were small reheated and burnt. The goujons and scampi were of very poor quality and the mushy peas were clearly partly liquidised frozen peas. The only thing edible was the side salad.
We will not be returning.

we visit the red lion most weekends for lunch.while most other eateries around the area tend to have fabulous menus then serve up microwaved food,at least in the red lion you will have to wait a while after ordering,but at least your food is being freshly cooked ! we tend to order the small meals as the portions are so generous ! we can recommend the home made steak and kidney pie,the fish and hand cut chips,and the red lion burger.top marks to the staff also,friendly and efficient. a well recommended bar/restaurant. 5 star.

Just been for a meal at the red lion earsdon, we had to wait 90 minutes for the food to arrive, when we complained the waiting staff were rude, the food came and it was dripping with grease, I actually had to mop the plate with a serviette to mop it up. We were unable to eat Half the meal due to the amount of grease but forced some down as we were so hungry due to the length of time we had waited for the food to arrive. I asked for a refund and was refused and rude to again. Never ever again, there was hardly any other people there so the wait wasn't justified.

I visited the Red Lion today and iv got to say i was very disappointed. We chose the 3 course for £5.99. The leek and potato soup was inedible it was that spicy! The Roast Turkey was ok but there was no yorkshire pudding? and the chocolate sponge & custard was such a let down, the sponge was hard and the custard hadnt been mixed properly, it was thin and had lumps in. As I said very disappointing!

The customer service also leaves a lot to be desired, I posted this review on their Facebook page and it has been removed each time without a reply or apology!

Will not be going again!
