Originally set to be called ‘Scream If You Know What I Did Last Halloween’, this is, without question, A Very Stupid Movie Indeed. However, in seemlessly blending the gross-out, bodily-fluid-obsessed antics of "American Pie" (with which it shares at least one cast member), with a series of spot-on spoofs of "Scream" and "I Know What You Did Last Summer", it does have some VERY funny moments, courtesy of an extremely game cast of relative unknowns.
Inevitably with this kind of film, some of the jokes are going to fall flat, and this is certainly true in the first half hour. After a while though, you find yourself screening out the REALLY awful bits and end up laughing despite yourself.
It would be unfair to spoil all the good jokes, but look out for some great spoofs of "The Blair Witch Project" (perhaps the film’s funniest joke), "Sixth Sense" and "The Matrix", among the more-obvious "Scream"-related gags. There's also a sex scene that...well...there are just no words for, as well as a scene in a cinema that will have you cheering.
If the film has a fault, it’s only that if you haven’t seen all the films mentioned above, then some of the jokes and references will be lost on you. That aside, though, this is Dumb American Comedy at its best and well worth 90 minutes of your time.
