A vibrant bar tucked under the Tyne bridge, a hidden gem that caters for everyone, making it one of the busiest places in town. Just recently refurbished and re-opened it has clean lines and sharp décor including an impressive dance floor. The drinks here are top quality and great value for money with a great selection of beers, wines, champagnes and an unpretentious cocktail list. My girlfriend went for a Raspberry Collins which was light and refreshing made with sloe gin, raspberry purée lemon juice and soda, just the thing for a summers evening. I pushed the boat out and went for the zombie, a mix of four different rums, apricot brandy, falernum and absinthe, a surprisingly tasty concoction that put a spring in my step. You can tell the guys behind the bar here really know their stuff and the prices are easy on the wallet too. Great Bar, great atmosphere, i will definitely be back soon.
I came back to my hometown for a friends hen party and came back to my old favourite Bar38. Somehow the bar is even better than before, new cocktail menu was started on the day we were there and the cocktails were fantastic an improvement on what was already a great menu. I even asked for something special not on the menu for the hen and the bartender was so friendly and eager to satisfy all our needs. Cant wait to come back to Newcastle for another fabulous experience at Bar38!
