Fitzgerald's pubs in and around Newcastle are usually among the best for cask ale and traditional atmosphere but this place is the exception and is unwelcoming in the extreme.
Service tends to be surly and the clock is kept permanently fast with the result that time is called early and about five minutes later the full contempt of the staff is turned on anyone who's still there.
Fitzgerald's on Grey Street looks great but could do with a refurb.
The staff are very pleasant and helpful and the food is great well worth a visit day and night I've been going for years and love it. - Report
