Surprised by the other reviews but they are a bit old so thought I'd balance things and bring them up to date. We've had many lovely meals here. The staff are lovely Italian Geordies and the food has always been very good. The house wines are nice(though you'd have to be daft to think they'd be as cheap in a restaurant as they are in a supermarket!)It's my family's favourite restaurant in the area. I'd recommend it.
Booked this restaurant recently for my son's birthday meal. The service was good and the vegetables were fine, but the meat, fish and sauces were dreadful. The steaks were tasteless and the sauces bland. How anyone can make a classic sauce Diane taste bland is beyond me. My monkfish was overcooked - the worst thing you can do with fish - and the parma ham in which it was wrapped tasted like cheap salty bacon from a works canteen. We have made far better meals at home. Very disappointed; what should have been a joyous occasion ended up being rather flat.

Fresh food with a great taste. Much loved restaurant! Basilico is the place to go.

Very expensive Resturant, especially the starters with no prawn cocktail on the menu!!!
Bottle of Lambrusco was £12.00, its £2.99 in the shops!!!!! Only 1 nice waitress, the other was a moody thing who didnt smile once.
Very disapointed with the resturant wouldnt go again.
