There's not many places these days that you can take your kids and enjoy a meal with the grown up's...Gusto is one of them.
On arrival, we came in a group of 8; 2 couples 4 kids, not a quiet entrance by any stretch of the imagination!

All the waiters/waitresses were fawning over the kids from free of charge cucumber and carrot sticks for the younger ones to I pods with special games on for them. They came over armed with colouring in pictures, crayons and chef's hats, but the pièce de résistance were the 'make your own pizza's'. They went down a storm with all four of them. Once they made their choice of topping's and various smiley faces on the pizza's, on went the chef's hats and they were walked to the kitchen, where the pizza chef made a wonderful fuss of them, leaving us to have a glass of wine and a snippet of long lost conversation.

The day was topped off with complementary ice cream and my youngest felt very cosmopolitan when she tried pistachio flavour for the first time.

We will come back with and without the kids again. The food was great, but the attention to detail and feeling of warmth we got from the staff was a cut above the rest.

I absolutely love this place.

The staff, the food, the outside terrace, the music (live DJ's on Fridays and bank holiday Sunday's) the decor.

Even though it's chain Italian's, it's got that something that most city restaurants have, that Newcastle is seriously lacking in other venues. It's got care. They genuinely care. They go that extra mile every time. The smiles are real, the promotions they have to keep you coming back are fantastic and it has that atmosphere of your welcoming home.

I love it. I couldn't recommend it highly enough. Having said that, don't all come! It's already pretty hard getting a table on a weekend already!

The sun was shining the weekend just gone and we wondered along the quayside. Alot of other people must have had the same idea as the terrace at Gusto was packed. Not that many people can be wrong we thought, always a good sign when there is a wait for a table! we took a drink at the bar and 10 minutes later we were seated outside in the baking sunshine. Bliss! Service was ever so efficient, management floating around, getting alot more involved than in other places!!
Great food, great relaxed atmosphere, and notably good tunes!
We'll be back and will certainly recommend!

We discovered this gem in the Summer when we were taking in the sights of Newcastle's quayside. Gusto is right on the steps of Newcastles world famous "eye" bridge, and just across the river from the stunning Baltic art centre. We chose Gusto because of it's lovely outdoor dining terrace, however work has brought me back to Newcastle very regularly since, which has given me the opportunity to try dining in it's charming interior, as well as letting me try almost the entire Menu over the last few months. Gusto is definitely our favourite Newcastle restaurant. The service has never been anything less than stellar and we've absolutely loved everything that we have ordered on our visits to Gusto. We even popped in to try their special festive 3 course menu recently, which was fantastic

Fabulous looking restaurant with lovely friendly staff who definitely know their stuff. The rib-eye steak was totally outstanding, lovely and juicy and cooked to perfection. Everything is brilliantly presented too. I had a si'mple pizza, but it was so delicious I could have eaten two! You can see into the kitchen as you walk up the stairs and you can see the chefs making the dough so its all really fresh. Our little one was well looked after too, she got a coloring in pack, a chefs hat , and was able to make her own pizza. She was brought a mini pizza base on a little platter, and she added her own toppings and took it to the chef herself. She was very entertained! Me and my partner shared a Calzone dessert which has chocolate and mascarpone in it. Served hot. You must try this dessert. Its the most amazing thing I've ever tasted in my life! Excellent value for moneysuits couples, and welcomes kids too, saw some big parties, but also some suits to. So im pretty sure they cater for everyone! Definitely get yourselves down there. Its so nice to find such a good place in Newcastle!

My partner and myself haf the most enjoyable meal in gusto. We were welcomed by a friendly hostess who took us to our table and wished us an enjoyable meal.

Our server Consu was very enthusiastic and recommended us many of her favourites from the menu.

I had the Seabass which came in salt and my partner had the Griffin Pizza. Both dishes were exceptional.

The female manager with shoulder length dark hair said she hadnt worked at the restaurant that long although she said she really enjoyed her work.

We found the atmosphere excellent. We would stongly recommend this restaurant.
