How things have changed from what wass once an excellent place to dine to midden that even pigs would turn their nose up at.visited there on Friday night with my wife and granddaughter there was a piece of beef there to be carved no bigger than an apple, asked the "carver" is that the only beef you have to which he replied "i can't bring another joint out until i have finished this one" he already told someone in front of me that this little piece of what wa supposed to be beef was tough. I went and got my money back.I sat at the table with my wife and granddaughter as they perceived with there meal, then it was realised that the fiasco was not over My granddaughter had what was supposed to be ham? in fact could have been mistaken for a breast implant in other word a big hunk of fat. after complaining to the duty manager who promptly blamed the staff money was refunded. there were several other people who made similar complaints. The Moral of this story is if you are thinking of going FORGET IT - PITY CANT GIVE - STARS.
Called to this pub for the first time yesterday for a Sunday lunch. First impressions very poor - the 2 guys at the bar were like automatons-they were so miserable and gave the impression they would rather be somewhere else. We headed for a table and should have been warned then as most of the tables hadn't been cleared and the plates were piled with food that had been left. Just wished we had left then! The food was really appalling. The beef was dry and over cooked, obviously frozen vegetables and yorkshire puddings-not what you expect when going out for a meal-just a total waste of money. Even the mashed potatoes were soggy with uncooked large lumps in and some of the roast potatoes were still uncooked inside. I don't know how they get away with serving food like this. If you haven't tried this pub then I wouldn't- there are loads of lovely places out there for Sunday lunch and this isn't one of them. Needless to say we won't be going back!

Overall a fantastic place to go for a meal, weather you are a family or a couple who fancy a romantic meal, this place is great. It has a nice, warm and appealing atmosphere and the staff are lovely. The meal is normally £3.50 which includes 1 yorkshire, 1 stuffing ball (ask for more if you like, they dont mind) They have gammon, turkey or beef to offer, if you like you can choose a slice of each. They then have a nice selection of vegetables and garnishes such as cranberry sauce and horseradish depending on your taste and prefrence.
I rate this 5 out of 5 as it ticks all of my boxes for the perfect dining experience on a budget.
Dined here for the first time on Tuesday 28th OCT and could not beilieve that for £3.50. you were served generous portions of 3 choices of meat (or try all three) and then unlimited vegetables from the buffet. A huge dining area, and friendly staff ..this has got to be the best value Buffet in the region... FANTASTIC
