If you like being treated like dirt, and you like lousy customer service & cheap grub, and a management that has no respect for regular customers then go to Toby Carvery. Otherwise, get your wallet in your pocket, and your car into gear, and head towards the wessington they are brilliant, and they have a children's softplay area as well. We would not have discovered the wessington had the service at Toby Carvery been even slightly good.
Service and standards took a sudden almighty drop sometime in late December 2012. I do not know why this has happened, having been a regular customer of the Toby Carvery in Washington Tyne & Wear, for more than 1 year now. The food is average, it always has been , but the Toby is convenient for business people to go after close of business, that's why we have been going there for more than 12 months now, usually there is a group of around 5 or 6 of us. Our last visit was around 22nd December 2012, not a good experience. The Barman was not interested in serving. He preferred to chat to his mates / hangers-on / deadwood that hung around the bar, He could not see me standing right infront of him waving a £10 note, and ordering drinks. We got sick of waiting, and trying to get served. It wasn't even a busy night, but the barman was more interested in sucking up to his mates, and serving young lasses. We walked out. I received a phone call a few days later offering apologies and free toby vouchers to spend, and guess what. They have not arrived. That was 2 weeks ago. Honest opinion from A regular ex-customer take your hard-earned cash, and spend it elsewhere, just like everything in this life you do only get what you pay for. Visited December 2012

So cheap so god damn good. I love the beef and lamb.
I guess the recession has caught up with this place, since your review in 2009.
They are really "scraping the barrel" when it comes to employing staff.
Customer service, has reached a new low, sad to say.
